Signal Integrity by Design: At the core of this cable is a dual twisted pair, 4-conductor construction using Oxygen-Free Copper conductors. Twisted pair geometry actively cancels electromagnetic interference and common-mode noise that can corrupt DMX packet data and cause flickering, dropped channels, or complete fixture loss across a run.

DuoFoil and Braided Copper Shield: A dual-shield system combines 100% coverage Duofoil with a tinned copper braid at 85% coverage, stopping RF interference and external electrical noise before they can reach the conductors inside.

Electrical Performance: Meets the 110 Ohm nominal characteristic impedance spec required for EIA-485 DMX512 data transmission. Nominal capacitance conductor to conductor at 1 kHz is 12.8 pF/ft; nominal velocity of propagation is 66%, with a nominal delay of 1.6 nanoseconds per foot. Nominal conductor DC resistance at 20°C is 24 Ohms per 1,000 ft, with an outer shield DC resistance of 3.4 Ohms per 1,000 ft. Maximum recommended current is 2.1 amps per conductor at 25°C. Operating temperature range runs from -30°C to +75°C.

Construction: Conductor insulation is polyethylene for stable dielectric properties, with a separate polyethylene inner jacket surrounding the conductor pairs before the shield layers. The outer jacket is PVC, built for coiling, running through cable paths, and surviving load-outs night after night.

XLR-5 Connectors: Both ends terminate with ProX branded, all-metal XLR-5 connectors featuring gold-plated contacts that resist corrosion and maintain a low-resistance connection through thousands of mate and unmate cycles.

Important Use Note: Twisted pair DMX data transmission cables are not interchangeable with audio cables. DMX cables are built to a 110 Ohm impedance standard for digital data transmission, while audio cables operate at different impedance targets. Always use the correct cable type for the application.
