A Different Kind of DMX Cable
The ProX XC-DMX300 is not a finished patch cable. It is the raw cable stock that finished cables are made from. There are no connectors on the ends. What you get is 300 feet of precision-spec DMX cable on a spool, ready for field termination with the 3-pin XLR-style DMX connectors of your choice.

Construction and Signal Path
The ProX XC-DMX300 is built on a twisted quad data cable design with polyethylene insulation on each conductor. The nominal characteristic impedance is 110 ohms throughout, matched precisely to the EIA-485 / DMX512 standard. Duofoil shielding provides 100% coverage across the full length, and a tinned copper braid adds 85% coverage on top. Both shield layers are continuous through every foot of the spool.

Conductors and Transfer Quality
Conductors are 22 AWG tinned copper. Nominal capacitance from conductor to conductor at 1 kHz is 12.8 pF/ft, with conductor-to-shield capacitance at 23 pF/ft. Nominal propagation velocity is 66%, with a nominal delay of 1.6 nanoseconds per foot. Nominal conductor DC resistance is 24 ohms per 1000 ft at 20 degrees C, and outer shield resistance is 3.4 ohms per 1000 ft under the same conditions. Nominal attenuation is 0.6 dB per 100 ft at 1 MHz. Maximum recommended current is 2.1 amps per conductor at 25 degrees C.

Jacket
The flexible PVC outer jacket is rated for an operating temperature range of -30 degrees C to +75 degrees C. It routes cleanly through conduit, pulls through cable trays, and does not stiffen up in cold outdoor environments.
