Cable Construction and Signal Path At the core of the ProX XC-PWC14-DMX03 is a hybrid construction built around two distinct conductor types, each matched to its job. The power side runs 14AWG oxygen-free copper conductors, sized to handle the current demands of professional lighting systems without running hot. The DMX signal side runs 20AWG OFC conductors optimized for the low-capacitance, high-precision signal transfer that DMX512 control requires.

Shielding and Noise Rejection The ProX XC-PWC14-DMX03 is shielded with a tinned copper braid at 85% coverage, paired with a Duofoil® layer at 100% coverage. Together, these two shielding layers block external interference from getting into your DMX signal. A polyethylene inner jacket adds additional separation between the conductors.

Jacket and Build Quality The outer jacket is black PVC, chosen for its combination of flexibility, durability, and low visibility on stage. The compact cable diameter also reduces eddy currents, which degrade signal quality in less carefully engineered cables. The ProX XC-PWC14-DMX03 is built to handle the repetitive coiling, uncoiling, bending, and twisting that comes with touring use.

Connector Specifications Each end of the ProX XC-PWC14-DMX03 terminates in two PowerKon connectors and two 3-pin XLR DMX connectors. The PowerKon connector is a 3-conductor locking power connector designed for safer and more reliable connections than standard IEC connectors. Its twist-lock design ensures the ground contact mates before neutral and line, which is the correct sequencing for safe live power connections.
